The fridge is the heart of the kitchen. This appliance is constantly working to keep all of your hard earned groceries cold, so that they don’t spoil. The fridge is responsible for keeping everything you purchase at a temperature that makes sure it won’t fill with bacteria, thus, protecting your health. Because of this, if your fridge isn’t functioning the way that it should be, it can lead to some pretty big problems. When issues arise, reach out and let us know so that we can come and fix whatever is going on.
Humming and Noise
Your refrigerator should run relatively quietly. Aside from a very gentle hum when the cooling filament engages or the noises that come from a built in ice maker filling with water and then dumpling ice, there shouldn’t be too many noises coming from the fridge. If there are noises coming out of your fridge, noises that sound like they should certainly not be coming from it, there could be issues with any number of elements in your appliance. If this is happening, let us come and take a look.
Temperature is Too Warm/Too Cold
If you notice that your fridge is not holding a consistent temperature, something could definitely be wrong. If it seems like your fridge is either too warm or too cold, the first step is to make sure that the thermostat setting is set to the correct temperature. If you double check that, and it is, then something else is happening. The issue could be stemming from your thermostat or temperature regulator not talking to the rest of the system. And, if that is happening, we have the knowledge and skills to fix it and get your fridge running as it should.
If you notice water standing in the bottom of the fridge, or spots of water spilling out when you open the door, something is wrong. This usually results from temperatures not holding where they should. If your fridge is running too warm, it can cause frost inside to melt, leading to minor spillage from different areas of the fridge. If you notice spillage, check the temperature to make sure it is set correctly and, if it is, but spillage is still happening, reach out to us. We are happy to come and assess whatever is going on.
Ice Maker/Water Filter Not Working
In more modern refrigerators, there is a good possibility that your fridge has a built in water dispenser and/or a built in freezer with a built in ice-maker. A water dispenser and ice-maker can be very convenient to your lifestyle so, when they stop working, it can create an issue. If water is not dispensing or your ice trays aren’t filling with water, water is somehow being blocked in the system. This could be a result of a loose water connection or it could be the result of interior pipes not working as they should; both things we can fix.
